Alastair Beach Associates Ltd carries out its own in-house studies when it perceives that there is a requirement for more information and a considered view on a subject of topical interest. One of the earliest of these studies involved production of one of the first structural maps of the North Sea. Since then, topics have included Eastern Europe, the Atlantic Margin and our highly successful Fault Seal Atlas of the North Sea. Current titles include:

  • Structural Evolution of the Rockall Trough from Modelling of Westline (1998) - evaluation of key aspects of the Rockall Trough which directly impact prospectivity along this part of the NE Atlantic Margin
  • Northwest European Margin Structural Atlas - UK and Faeroe Islands (1997) - plate tectonic reconstructions and structural modelling of key seismic lines, implications for prospectivity
  • Fault Seal Scenario Manager - Southern North Sea (1998) - software tool for assessing the risk of fault seal in undrilled prospects, based on statistical analysis of a database of sealing and non-sealing faults
  • An Atlas of Sealing Faults in SE Asia (1997) - predicting fault seal in offshore SE Asia: a study based on an analysis of published data

Older reports available include:

  • Fault Seal Atlas of the North Sea (1995) - predicting fault seal in the Northern, Central and Southern North Sea: a study based on an analysis of published data
  • Spatial Distribution of Small Scale Structures in Sandstone Reservoirs: an Outcrop Study from the Gulf of Suez (1995) - further quantitative analysis of faults and their damage zones, based on an outcrop study in Suez
  • Fault Distribution in Clastic Reservoirs (1994) - our first study on the relationship between faults and the envelope of damaged rock that surrounds them, based on an outcrop studies from Northern Britain
  • Structural Development of the Møre-Trøndelag Margin, Mid Norway (1992) - interpretation of complex geometries between the south Halten Terrace and north Viking Graben through seismic interpretation and structural modelling
  • Petroleum Basins of Eastern Europe (1990) - overview of the petroleum geology of basins in the main Eastern European countries
